We were proud to be a corporate sponsor of Clic Gallery's special sale to benefit The First Responder Alliance. This was a moving photography show featuring Charlotte Dumas' portraits of the 15 surviving September 11 rescue dogs, retired veterans in their own right.

We were delighted to join Coclico's in Nolita for an after-hours shopping extravaganza on Fashion's Night Out. Inspired by the French word for poppy flower, coquelicot, Coclico produces and sells eco-conscious, stylish shoes.

"The sense of excitement in the BAM Opera House lobby" continued as the doors opened to Brooklyn Uncorked, where Brooklynites, who had heard about LI wines, could taste them for themselves. Read Christopher Tracy's story in Edible East End. We launched at Brooklyn Uncorked with two wines, 2007 Bouké White and Rosé, four years ago and love to present our wines here!

We are honored to receive a Gold Medal for Bouquet White Dessert Wine (VdN made with Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer) and a Silver Medal for Bouquet Red Dessert Wine (VdN made with Syrah and Pinot Noir) at the New York Wine & Food Classic. Celebrating its 25tth year, the NYWFC, organized by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation included 850 New York wines and spirits from Long Island, the Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, Niagara Escarpment, Lake Erie and other regions of New York State. The awards were based on blind tastings by 24 expert judges, including wine writers, restauranteurs, retailers and wine educators.

At its 30th Anniversary, the prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition awarded a silver medal to our 2007 Bouké Red Wine, and bronze medals to our 2009 Bouké Perlant, 2009 Bouké White Wine, 2009 Bouquet Rosé and 2009 Bouquet White Dessert Wine. We are also proud to have won a Bronze medal for our Label Design Series.

We are pleased to launch three new wines: Bouké Perlant (lightly effervescent), Bouquet Red Dessert Wine (a vin doux naturel) and Bouquet Rosé Wine (off-dry) in Spring 2010. We are also pleased to launch newer vintages of Bouké Red, Bouké White and Bouquet White Dessert Wines.

Bouquet Dessert Wine received an invitation to be featured in a multi-course dinner for distinguished members of the oldest U.S. chapter of the International Wine & Food Society, founded in London by André Simon, a world renowned French gastronome and outstanding writer of his time on food and wine.

The New York Wine and Food Classic awarded a silver medal for our 2008 Bouké Rosé and bronze medals for our 2007 Bouké Red and 2008 Bouké White wines. The awards were based on blind tastings by 24 expert judges, including prominent wine writers, restaurateurs, retailers, and wine educators.

We are pleased to announce our new association with a distributor, Premium Wines. Premium Wines specializes in the distribution of local wines, and allows buyers to choose multiple hand-crafted wines from the NY region through one single source. The company is headed by Peter Demeo, formerly General Manager of Pelligrini Vineyards. Of course, this is our product, and we will remain fully involved and will continue to sell directly to consumers.

Appellation America awarded us with Double Gold for our 2008 Bouké White, 2008 Bouquet Dessert and 2007 Bouké Rosé wines, and Gold for our 2008 Bouké Rosé, 2007 Bouké Red and 2007 Bouké White wines. Appellation America is an online wine publication whose panel of experts evaluates and provides tasting notes for North American wines.

June 2009

The largest, most influential international wine competition in America, The San Francisco Wine Competition awarded 2008 Bouké White and 2008 Bouquet Dessert wines with bronze medals. Led by Anthony Dias Blue, this year’s competition included more than 4,000 entrants and was judged by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized wine experts. Our 2008 Bouquet also won a bronze medal at the Indy International Wine Competition, the largest scientifically organized independent wine competition in the United States. This year’s competition brought in more than 3,000 wines from 10 countries.

Nearly 200 philanthropists enjoyed Bouké wines at a fundraiser for GlamourGals, an organization that fosters intergenerational relationships between teens and elderly women living in senior homes through monthly facials and makeovers. Notable guests included Ford Models and Miss New York of the Miss Universe competition.

Bouké is delighted to present winepocket, a new (and ECO-friendly) way to carry wine. Made from surplus industrial wool felt, winepocket is on-trend with both the textile and environmental movements. “Fashioning Felt,” a fascinating exhibition currently at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, explores the ubiquity and versatility of this unique material. “I am particularly excited to introduce winepocket to Bouké customers because I see a parallel between felt and wine,” said Lisa Donneson. “Both are artisanal products with ancient roots, which have also inspired modern and sophisticated creations.” Purchase Bouké Winepocket

2007 Bouké Red won a Gold medal at the 25th annual Dallas Morning News Wine Competition. This year, 3,146 entries from around the world were submitted to this major competition, whose expert judging panel called Bouké Red well-balanced, with “chocolate mocha aromas with full dark fruits, black cherry and plum in the mouth integrated with toasted oak.” In addition, 2007 Bouké White received a bronze medal.

Bouké greeted Stacie J, former contestant on “The Apprentice” and other VIP guests as they celebrated the 25th anniversary of Wellington Hair Spa, based in the heart of Chelsea.

All three Bouké wines won silver medals at The Beverage Tasting Institute's World Wine Championships. The competition was based on blind tastings conducted by a panel of world-class expert judges, including prominent writers, retailers, and restauranteurs.

Bouké shared the spotlight with models and fashionistas at Got Green?, a sustainable style event in SoHo. The event featured the launch of Born-Again Vintage, a book by designer Bridgett Artise, shopping, and a trunk show of vintage fashions.

December 2008

Bouké wines were featured at two NYC charity benefits. Members of the New York Junior League enjoyed tasting Bouké White and Bouké Red at Holly Daze, the organization’s annual holiday celebration at its Upper East Side headquarters, as did guests at Stonewall Honors: A Celebration of Women at Manhattan’s Exit Art.

2007 Bouké Red was released just in time for the holidays. Hundreds of wine and food enthusiasts enjoyed it at CookEatDrinkLive at NYC’s Pier 94. The wine was also featured at The Stonewall Community Foundation’s REVEL 2008 at Club Sol in Chelsea.

Bouké wines were served at two silent auction events that raised funds for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign: Art for Obama at PPOW Gallery in Chelsea and Art for Change at the McCaig Welles & Rosenthal Gallery in Williamsburg.
